Testimonials

Mr Ekkel / Aureliano

Very much appreciate the hospitality from Barbara. For example: due to late arrival she managed to prepare some groceries which was perfect!

We enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much. Nice location in a non-touristic area of Rome, close to the bus-stop, supermarkets, bars and several nice places to eat.

Mr Luc Mintjens / Aureliano
From May-06, 2010 Until May-13, 2010
We can recommend this apartment. The staff Olivia and Barbara are very friendly. We came by car and they arranged for us a garage. There was also bread and some snacks when we arrived. The rooms are clean and there is enough space. Take bus 492 in front of the apartment and you are within 10 minutes in the centre of Rome. There are also some good restaurants near to the apartment. We can recommend il pulcino ballerino.

Slootjes / Alexandra Holidays
From May-24, 2010 Until May-28, 2010
The appartement was big enough for us (4 adults). It was clean, the location was very good and the security its good.

Thanks,

Roaming the Attractions in Rome

Thanks to the sheer immensity of its artistic and archaeological treasures, the irresistible charm of its glorious heritage and the breathtaking beauty of its panoramic landscapes, Rome is one of the world's most preferred tourism sites.  And we are only talking about the ordinary days of the year - the numbers swell during the holy days because of the presence of the Vatican City, a favorite pilgrimage site for Christians around the world, within Rome itself.

Do as the Romans Do

And when in Rome, do as the Romans do.  In the case of Rome attractions, we suggest appreciating the sights of the city but never leaving your modern mark on its ancient structures.  Only take your memories with you so that future generations may also look up in wonder at the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Catacombs as well as the countless aqueducts, churches, fountains, palaces, monuments, historical buildings and ruins of the great city that was and is Rome.

And just like the Romans, going on foot is the preferred mode of seeing the many attractions in Rome.  No worries about wearing yourself out traversing the city as almost all the major historic sites are within walking distance of one another.  If you do get tired or if the attractions are really far apart, then do as any Roman will do - take the bus or hail a taxi!

See as the Romans Do

For two millennia, Rome was very much a popular city with tourists.  It successively became the center of the Roman Empire, then the most important city of Christianity, the European capital for the arts, education, philosophy and trade and then, today, a very fashionable city attracting all sorts of individuals from across the globe.

And amongst all these influx of people, one true thing remains - it often takes a pair of Roman eyes to appreciate Rome for what it truly is.  This is not to say that one should hire a guide although that would be nice. Instead, you have to see Rome as the Romans do - with great awe and respect for the great achievements of the past mixed with a healthy dose of present practicality.

With that being the case, you will most definitely enjoy going through the top tourist attractions of the city.  Start with the Trastevere, a picturesque medieval place with an infusion of the Bohemian and the welcome presence of cafes, boutiques and restaurants in its narrow cobblestone streets.  Move on into the Capitoline Hill, seat then and now of the city government, of which Michelangelo's Piazza del Campidoglio is the area's main attraction.

Proceed to the Roman Forum, Rome's ancient center for commercial, political and religious affairs; the Colosseum and the Constantine's Arch, both enduring symbols of the Roman halcyon days; the Pantheon, built in honor of the Roman gods with its floating dome and marble columns; the Trevi Fountain with its world-famous wishing well; and, of course, St. Peter's Basilica, the world's foremost Christian cathedral.

Well, of course, Rome was built for many centuries and, hence, it cannot be seen in its entirety in just a day.  We strongly suggest booking a holiday apartment via one of the reputable online reservation site so that you may have a second home in the Eternal City.
