Testimonials

Mr Luc Mintjens / Aureliano
From May-06, 2010 Until May-13, 2010
We can recommend this apartment. The staff Olivia and Barbara are very friendly. We came by car and they arranged for us a garage. There was also bread and some snacks when we arrived. The rooms are clean and there is enough space. Take bus 492 in front of the apartment and you are within 10 minutes in the centre of Rome. There are also some good restaurants near to the apartment. We can recommend il pulcino ballerino.

Very much appreciate the hospitality from Barbara. For example: due to late arrival she managed to prepare some groceries which was perfect!

We enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much. Nice location in a non-touristic area of Rome, close to the bus-stop, supermarkets, bars and several nice places to eat.

Maps of Rome

Roam with a Map in Rome

The Romans had an affinity with maps, maps and more maps.  After all, it was an effective way to plan an invasion of a country, keep it under control under its administration and know just how huge an empire Rome had under its hand.  Well, if the Romans loved their maps, then you should, too, as a visitor to their Eternal City.

There are advantages to having a map in your travels of the city.  You can plan your itinerary for the succeeding days so as to cover as much ground as possible.  Also, you will not get lost in the streets looking for your Accommodation Rome

Your holiday apartment should be one of the first matters to attend to when planning to roam the streets of Rome.  The online method is still the best way because of its fast, easy and convenient way of finding and reserving the perfect holiday apartment for you and your group.

With map on hand, you can start planning your itinerary of  things to do in Rome, places to see and possibly, people to meet while you are in the Eternal City.  Think along the lines of seeing the wonders of the Vatican while hearing Mass with the Pope himself at the altar.  Your map of Rome will reveal that it is divided into several districts with the historical center as probably the smallest in terms of size.  As it is called in Italian, it is the Centro Storico where Old Rome and the ruins of the Colosseo can be found.

And then there is the Modern Center with its abundant shopping and dining options along the Via Veneto as well as its world-famous attractions like the Quirinale, Trevi fountain and the Barberini.  Do bring a map especially when you cannot speak Italian all that well, both in terms of the spoken and the body language.  But if modern areas do not appeal as much to your purpose of visiting Rome, then whip out your map again and look for Old Rome.  It is famous for its beautiful cathedrals and plazas, thanks to its history as the center for the Medieval and Renaissance periods in the city.

Now, if you are deciding between roaming Rome with a map either by foot or by rental car, we say go for foot power.  This is especially true for the city center where strolling while holding hands is such a romantic activity.  Well, it definitely beats having to navigate the traffic jams of the city on a car or even a moped.  Just take the public transportation if you have to ride to get to your destination.

It is so very easy to get lost in time while in the grandeur, the glory and the greatness that was and is Rome.  But do remember that you only want to get lost figuratively, not literally, so do bring a map of the city.
