Very much appreciate the hospitality from Barbara. For example: due to late arrival she managed to prepare some groceries which was perfect!

From Dec-12, 2009 Until Dec-19, 2009
We enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much. Nice location in a non-touristic area of Rome, close to the bus-stop, supermarkets, bars and several nice places to eat.

Mr Luc Mintjens / Aureliano
From May-06, 2010 Until May-13, 2010
We can recommend this apartment. The staff Olivia and Barbara are very friendly. We came by car and they arranged for us a garage. There was also bread and some snacks when we arrived. The rooms are clean and there is enough space. Take bus 492 in front of the apartment and you are within 10 minutes in the centre of Rome. There are also some good restaurants near to the apartment. We can recommend il pulcino ballerino.

Summer in Rome

All Roads Can Lead to One Fantastic Roman Holiday

Rome wasn't built in a day, so you'll need more than one day to see it. But it's still definitely a city that you should visit while in Europe. Rome functions both as Italy's capital and as the largest city in the nation. Rich with culture, Rome has existed for more than 2,500 years, and has been the capital of various domains throughout history. It has become a global epicenter for realms such as art, religion, architecture, and culture. You have to come ans enjoy a summer in Rome.

When in Rome, there are tons of places to visit. One of the most famous ones is the Pantheon, an ancient temple that later was converted into the church of Santa Maria ad Martyres. In fact, the Pantheon was Earth's biggest concrete structure until the 1900s! Today, it serves as the burial sight of numerous noteworthy Italians and continues to function as an active church. The Pantheon has become renowned for its innovative architecture and its usage of space. One of its most spectacular aspects is definitely the enormous dome, which is a perfect half-circle consisting of cast concrete.

Another must-see object in Rome is the Trevi Fountain. It's the most renowned and debatably the loveliest fountain throughout the entire city. This magnificent monument overlooks the tiny Travi square situated in the Quirinale district. The Trevi Fountain was commissioned to be constructed in 1732, and in 1762 was completed. The focus of the fountain is the god of the sea, Neptune. Meanwhile, there are smaller statues on either statue of Neptune, each having a figurative meaning. Even the water at the fountain's base represents something: the sea. According to legend, if you toss a coin into the water then you'll return to Rome sometime.

Next, the Roman Coliseum has become one of the most renowned landmarks in Rome. The Emperor Vespasiano constructed it around 70 AD, and it was dedicated in 80 AD. The structure received its name because the stadium was located next to a "colossal" statue of Emperor Nero. The Roman Coliseum is truly amazing. With a height greater than 64 meters, eighty entrances, and a capacity of more than 50,000 observers, the Coliseum was indeed one of the Ancient Wonders of the World. Various events were held in the structure, including wild animal hunts, gladiator competitions, and faux naval battles.

Finally, there's La Bocca della Verita, or "The Mouth of Truth." This marble piece is located in the church of Santa Maria. Experts believe that the sculpture was part of an ancient Roman fountain in ancient Rome. Since the Middle Ages, it was believed that one's lying would cause one's hand to be bitten off, when inserted into the sculpture's mouth.
